BBC - Storytime

Storytime is another top 10 ranking kids app, this time focussed on bedtime stories narrated by a who’s who of famous voices. Based on their popular show Cbeebies Bedtime Stories, the brand wanted to explore calm, mindful content, in contrast to the high-energy games in their other apps.

The app presents the reader with two options - “Read by myself“ for quiet reading, and “Read to me“ for the fully narrated read-along experience, both with a sprinkling of interactive easter-eggs hidden throughout.

Built on the same design & technical foundations as Playtime Island, using the BBC’s modular Universal App Platform, we were able to build and launch this new product in record time, to a very warm reception from audiences.
